Get a Pepper Spray for Your Protection

These days it really doesn't matter where you stay, there's always the need to stay protected. But, there are different ways wherein you can keep yourself safe and resistant in this especially unsafe world. It is comforting to know that you have several options when considering personal safety, but this is exactly the problem with self-defense--there are so many different self protection products on the market, it's difficult to choose just one of them. The only thing that will help protect you is a pepper spray product.

I am sure that plenty of you have known this type of self-defense option, especially since it is one of the main products in relation to protection for women; on the other hand, there are not many people who understand how pepper spray works and the different kinds of pepper spray products. Among the most famous types include the key chain pepper spray. This kind of pepper spray is small and yet still packs a big punch.

There's also the pepper spray pen. This might look like a regular fountain pen, but looks can be misleading. A nozzle is concealed beneath the cap and, when depressed, can fire a spray for half of a second reaching six to eight feet. This type of pepper spray has merely ten shots. Another kind of pepper spray is the original pepper spray in a canister. This traditional pepper spray is the most common carry-on device for protection. A can can contain 1 to 2 ounces of pepper spray. You can shoot from 12 feet away from the target.

I'm sure many people would agree with me that being fired upon with a pepper spray isn't a pleasant experience. So you might speculate what is in the pepper spray that makes it so unpleasant. It is made from an oil called pepper spray ingredient which can be found in pepper. The heat from the pepper spray is derived from this oil which is measured in SHUs or Scoville Heat Units. The higher the SHU is, the more lethal the pepper spray is. We'll compare the Scoville Heat Unit of a pepper spray with the Habanero pepper which is the hottest pepper known to man. One Habanero pepper contains a heat value of 325,000 Scoville Heat Units. There are around 2,000,000 to 5,000,000 Scoville Heat Units in other pepper sprays. It is what makes pepper sprays lethal and effective as a personal protection.

The world outside the protection of our home isn't safe anymore. A can of pepper spray can be practical. Pepper sprays can help save lives when you're in danger or even attacked. Pepper sprays aren't expensive. Remember that it is your job to protect yourself and your family. When you have your own self-defense like a Mace Fogger Model 55 Grams, you've ensured your protection.
