I bought my two dachshunds three years ago and named them Jack and Jill . Jill who is the the bees knees is only 17 pounds and Jack comes in at 19 pounds. I got them sort of by mistake their owners both died a year apart. . It would have been my last thought in the whole world to start breeding doxies. The amazing thing is I have had 4 litters to date. .I cant imagine a more friendly kind of dog after owning them. I was out at work when Jill decide it was time for her first litter. She shocked me a little bit by the speed at which she had the pupss. When we got home we discovered more pups behind the toilet and one wasnt breathing at all. I am not sure what happened but when we got back one of the puppies was veiled behind the toilet and wasnt breathing

Jill was frighted of the dachshund puppies . We put her down on the ground and place the pup next to her so it could try and suckl. . WIthin 2 hours Jill was feeding her little fellow as if nothing had ever happened. At that stage we were passably confident that the pup behind the toilet was the only one left.

After that evening we went up stairs to bed. . The new baby dachsund and her mummy Jill were in our room for the night in order that nothing strange happened between them in the middle of the night. Finally when they were both happy my husband turned off the light so the four of us could turn in for the night. As he was hitting the switch he heard a puppy whimper .

He opened the door and pursued the sound to the bed room across the hall. . Much to his surprisal he came across another newborn puppy lying in the bed. She was cleaning it. My other dog is an 80 lb half pit bull half boxer lady named Jade.

Jade has never had a dachshund before . What is really odd is that she does have milk when Jill has baby doxies. Jade is fairly sure that Jills pups are her own and Jill even lets her feed her . They regularly lie by her side. Jill knows only too well that the pups couldnt be looked after better by anybody else so herself and Jade have come to an agreement. They sleep in one big pile Skippy,Jill,Jade and the babies. .

I have never seen so many dog sitters for a miniature dachshund. They leap all over Jade . All she does is waggle her tail and puts her paw on them to mess with them . The pups throw themselves at Jade and she leaps back.It constantly amazes me that all of the puppys have never been harmed as the size difference between Jade and them is monumental.
